Hi BB10 - scroll down a bit to StevenR's posting on March 20th - lots of discussion there from both sides of the picture. Yes - some attention to faith based investing is cool - but don't do the proverbial 'strain on a gnat and swallow a camel' routine - I think Sound Mind Investing can steer you thru these troubled waters - but if you want additional options - these all seem to be good too: https://www.timothyplan.com/ https://www.eventidefunds.com/about-us/#!investment – Value – Christian Investment guidance https://www.inspireinvesting.com/ - Christian Investment Management Group https://www.praxismutualfunds.com/ - Christian - Socially Conscious Investing https://investments.oneascent.com/ - Kingdom Based Investing https://www.guidestone.org/ - Kingdom based investing – insurance – taxes, etc.

I doubt Rob West views BRI as a requirement for Christian investing, otherwise he would not link to Sound Mind Investing articles on the Faith Fi web page, nor interview Mark Biller of SMI on his show. SMI has no such stand regarding BRI. Their position has not changed since Austin Pryor's article on it 10 years ago. https://soundmindinvesting.com/articles/socially-responsible-investing-the-debate-over-where-to-draw-the-line

I don't know how Christian's knowingly do not invest in a biblically responsible manner. Austin Pryor's article illustrates his misunderstanding of investing and corporate finance. This video contains a 45 sec section that illustrates where Austin is incorrect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1nhKtCb7_A starting at 4:45 in the video. In short, BRI investing not only aligns your finances with your faith, it has social/political impacts, and better positions a portfolio with academia's concept of smart beta. The reality is, most advisors manage clients, not money. They invest in mutual funds and ETFs and let someone else do the investment management.

Could not agree more with KB. As an advisor when I saw the percentage of S and P 500 companies that support planned parenthood it made me sick. But having said that it is a choice. I made the choice to no longer invest in companies did not align with my values. I leverage some of the plans mentioned above for me and my clients. Eventide Inspire and Timothy are all worth looking at with an advisor
